I found this song entitled "He's That Kind Of Friend" by Walter Hawkins in my archives  and I tell you what when I listened to it, it really brought back memories and as tears filled my eyes I began to recall those precious moments as if it were yesterday.  WOW!  It was a really cold winter (but for me it's always' a cold winter:-)) and I arrived in Hartford, CT with the intentions of recording this song while visiting my mother over the weekend.

I really didn't know what to expect from the recording but all I knew is that I love this song and I was really nervous because I had not heard the recorded tracks that were laid down by the musicians yet, so to fast forward I put my heart into this recording returned home and for whatever reasons one thing led to another and I never released this song and it was never completely finished and all I had was a rough draft that throughout the years had been misplaced.

So how did I find this recording?  I'm glad you asked:  As fate would have it and the Good Lord above wanted me to find it, I was going through some old box's that had been in the closet for years and I was throwing away stuff., here comes the miracle: there was a small brown paper bag that seemed to have nothing in it, and as I went to toss the bag in the pile of trash the bag broke open and out fell this recording. Hallelujah thank you JESUS! (in my Mahalia Jackson voice)

So with tears in my eyes and joy in my heart thinking of all the years of singing and looking back from where I was then and where I am now, it is truly amazing.  Now I'm an International Jazz singer/songwriter recording artist, and I also sing Gospel music all over the world, a little gift from me to you to share just a small piece of me from my past.  May God Bless all that hear this recording, and feel free to share it with your friends, like me on FB, Tweet me @HabakaKFJ or just leave me a message on my Blog page, I would love to hear from you.

With much love Habaka                                                                                      Be sure to: click share at the bottom right corner
